Arts for Elders

The Arts Council of Hillsborough County has a long-standing commitment to provide dynamic arts in education initiatives for Hillsborough County residents of all ages. We believe that there are positive physical and emotional effects of life-long learning. The goal of our Arts for Elders program is to design and implement artistic residencies and performances for both frail and active elderly populations in aging services venues throughout the county.  Such arts programs have proven to be an extraordinary link to maintaining the vitality and energy essential to successful aging.

These programs are implemented through valuable partnerships with Hillsborough County Department of Aging Services, the Life Enrichment Center, and many other public and private nursing home facilities. 

Funding is also provided by the
State of Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs

Forever Moving Dance Troupe:

In a unique partnership between the Arts Council and the Life Enrichment Center, adults ranging in age from 60-84 and up participate in weekly contemporary dance workshops.

The workshops take place every Friday from 10 am to 12 noon at the Life Enrichment Center, 9704 North Boulevard, Tampa. For more information, contact the Arts Council at (813) 276-8250.

Choreographers and teaching artists from a variety of disciplines present dance workshops throughout the year. This year’s schedule is as follows:
