Resources for Artists
The Arts in Education Program has a history spanning three decades of providing quality arts experiences for Hillsborough County students in grades K-12. We employ local and touring companies and individuals to conduct performances in theatre, dance, music, and other collaborative art forms. The program has two tiers of participation for artists or performing organizations: in-school and field trip.
To be considered for one of these programs, you must first contact the Director of Education at the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, (813) 276-8250 to discuss your performance and what area of participation would be best for you. You will then be asked to complete to following steps:
1. Provide basic background and information about your program/performance, including CD, video, study guides, letters of support, resume and photo.
2. You will be asked to provide a free showcase performance at a school site or local venue, to be reviewed by a small committee.
3. If approved, you will be placed on our proposal list and asked to submit a proposal for the following school year. This proposal is usually submitted in July of each year for the following school year, but can be submitted at any time for consideration.
All participating artists and performing groups are required to provide detailed study guides, which are sent to the teachers prior to every performance they receive. Links are provided here for:
